Blue Tower Quilt

I think I finished this quilt in July or August, but I only gave it to its recipient this past Sunday, so it has been sitting in the shadows for lo these many months. Don't put baby in the corner!, or something like that, I am bad at movie quotes. And I don't even know what that one is really even referring to, so... (Don't ever join my team on a movie trivia game. I will have seen most of the movies, but remember nothing about them. It is a skill.) ANYWAY. Quilt! I have to say, I really love the way this one turned out. I had a general color palette, and so Brian and I went to a fabric store and he helped me pick out these prints. We wanted it to be fairly subtle, so it would have a blend-y effect, and I think it was fairly successful. Anyway, on with the photos!Oh, and PS, I am part of the new papernstitch exhibit opening today!

I just had to post that your movie quote is from Dirty Dancing (and I *think* it's actually "Nobody puts Baby in a corner!"). You are the second person I've heard recently who did not know where this quote is from. I'm utterly shocked! ;) Beautiful quilt!

Love the quilt! I watched your tutorial on your quilting technique and am anxious to give it a try. I got a kick out of your "gift" of not remembering things about movies...I am the same way! Nice to know I am not the only one.

You must be younger than me if you don't know where that quote is from. Everyone *my* age knows that it's from Dirty Dancing!

Love that quilt. Your distinctive quilting style is always so lovely.

My Quilt! I love it. It's beautiful. I immediately came home and draped it over the crib and it looks so fantastic in his room.

Lovely! And how cool that your guy went with you to pick out fabrics.

P.S. I have the same "gift" and it applies to movies, books, and, well, pretty much everything else that happened before turning 40.

I am such a huge fan of your tower quilts... beautiful beautiful. I'm so glad somebody commented on your quilting tutorial, because I was going to ask if you had one! I am so intimidated by quilting and yours comes out looking so intricate and understated.

And the fabric is to die for! And hooray for patient men-folk! Thanks!

Sorry for comment spamming you... but could you post a link for your quilting tutorial? I'm really interested in watching it but can't seem to find it in your blog archives... (Ok, you have an impressive number of posts and I'm too lazy to search through them all.)

I'd really appreciate it!!
