I watched a show on the history of Halloween last night and it said that turnips are what were traditionally carved in Ireland. It was the Irish who came to the US and found pumpkins were easier to carve. I don't know if Martha said that but I had seen the magazine and was very excited to see turnips on the show! Nice work, by the way!
