I Am Giving Stuff Away.

I would love to have some clever words here, about giveaways and fabric and what have you, but I am still recovering from "baby's first craft show" (that's, err, I'm the baby is what I am implying, and it was my first.. ) and my mind is still made of creamed corn. I don't think you need any more proof than that I have given you in the previous sentence. So I will just spit it out- I give away charm pack "Flock". You want win?(SIick of fabric in circles yet? TOO BAD!)
It is a pack that includes 3 squares each of 12 different fabrics, 36 5" squares in all. To enter, just comment on this post, and you don't have to write anything, but if you want to have a short creative writing assignment then, uhm... thinking... Oh! Write an original limerick. Keep in mind, this is COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, so I expect to read exactly two limericks. ALSO, if you want to be entered twice, just start following me on twitter. See, I am ensnaring you in my sticky social networking web, or something. And if you are a blog reader person who already follows me on Twitter, you've already been entered. Yay!SO that's all the big words I can dredge out of the old corn pit (my brain), I will be taking entries until Friday and then announce the winner on Monday. Woohoo! Oh, and prepare yourself for some massive tote-bag-etsy-updatery, I have quite a few to post now. (Another post on the craft fair, will come soon, complete with TERRIBLE pictures and lots of gushing over Things I Got.) Ta-ta!

Ooh, I would totally love those fabrics!! More than that, my husband would love them and we could finally combine his interest in birdlife with my love of patchwork! But no limerick tonight, I did an extra long day at work..

I wish that I was the clever commenter who could come up with a limerick...but only dirty ones from school come to mind (NO - I'm not proud that this is how my mind works!).

Love the vibrant colours of your fabrics and I would love to win!

There once was a woman who sewed
Who decided to enter a show
By the time it was done
She had sewed up her thumb
"The Factory is definitely closed!"

A little something for you off the top of my head. Fine poetry, it ain't, but thought it might make you smile.

Hope I win!!!

Sometimes, when I really am procrastinating, I'll write limericks...when I don't have time to write limericks.

But here you go:
There once was a girl who could sew.
She cut and she pieced, this we know.
She oft wrote some words,
And even drew birds.
And printed fabric that made me say "whoa!"

I know...really grasping on that last line.

There once was a blog, My Aunt June,
with posts Lauren ended, "conclude!"
I stop by each day
to see what she'll say
and drool over her fabrics 'til noon.

Ta Da!
(I was an english major)
I am, in all seriousness, drooling over your fabric. Bravo, Lauren!

So instead she settled for chop suey

I swore that I would not amass
More fabric, oh, but then, alas!
Seduced by color,
Resolve grows smaller.
Just one more print for this poor lass?

I'm afraid if I try to come up with an original limerick my brain will explode, so I'll suffice it to say WOW what a great giveaway - and congrats on your first craft fair! =)

Writing limericks sure sets me aglow,
But will it help my fabric "Flock"
grow?
Probably not,
But still--worth a shot!
I'd do a lot for a charm pack, you
know!

Love the fabrics--gorgeous!

Love the fabric - I'd love to win - but I don't really do twitter. So I guess one entry will have to be good enough for me!

A crafty girl sat in her room.
Heard a great boom.
Fabric, notions, ribbon, everywhere.
Things strewn without a care.
As her sewing machine ran out of the room, zoom!

I love these fabrics!

About limerics: well...tough. My first language is Hungarian, and I read a LOT of limericks wrote by a young Hungarian writer, Daniel Varro. I doubt that I could write an original limerick in English, but I can offer a translation of his gastronomy limericks.

OK, here it goes:
There was a man, living in Alaska.
He walled up his wife into a cave.
He was asked: why he did it?
"I was angry" he answered.
"I got tired of frosted herrings".

And the original one in HUngarian:
Volt egy úr, lakhelye Alaszka,
Nejét egy barlangba falazta.
Kérdezték: „miért tette?”
Azt mondta: „Mérgembe.
Untam a heringet fagyasztva.”

Now, if by any chance I win, you can find me here: vadjutka.etsy.com
