Boys Becoming Men, Men Becoming Wolves.
Ok, so the subject line? No relation to anything I'm going to talk about, but if you don't watch 30Rock, you're missing out, and you might want to check out this. And that's all I have to say about that. In more, ehm, relevant craft-bloggy news, I finished the "Post-It" quilt. Next time, I think I will cut the squares a bit larger, 4" instead of 3.5". Oh well, you live and learn. I am fairly pleased with the texture of the quilting though, this photo of the quilt before the binding was sewn on shows how bunchy and imperfect the whole thing is. I am totally in love with the fabric I used for the backing, which is part of the new Urban Chicks for Moda "Blossom" line. The print comes in 4 colorways, but I'm a huge fan of this very Martha green. And when I went to the quilt shop to pick it up, I found this fabulous stuff, part of Moda's "Allspice Taperstry" line, which I really wouldn't have taken a second glance at, but this pattern is just soooo good. I already made a new covered bulletin boards out of it, that I will photograph just as soon as I paint the frame.

dude, you are seriously a woman inspired!
I just found your site because you had linked to mine in a previous post. I cannot imagine a better post title to welcome me here! I heart 30 Rock and that line was amazingly funny.
PS Very nice quilt(s)! You have such a great use of solids.
I love the freeform quilting that you've done on this quilt and on sushi box. Do you have any tips for how to successfully use this style? I'm assuming that you don't mark any lines before you sew... Do you start in the center of the quilt and work your way out, or do you just work your way across the quilt or add more lines randomly... Just curious...
The Post it note quilt totally inspired me to make a simple square quilt for the little man. Thanks!
Ps. It looks great! and I want to hear how you do the quilting too.
I like the post it note quilt! Quite lovely!
love this quilt. your quilting is great.
and your new fabric from the allspice tapestry line...I so need some of that!
I love this quilt too. The colors are subtle and wonderful and I love what you are doing with the freeform quilting. I took my first machine quilting class last night and am working up my nerve to try my first quilt. Thanks for the inspiration.
The colours are great, and the hint of print in the binding is perfect. I'm blown away by the quilting--it's not quite like any quilting I've seen, and it looks super.
