Two Things:

1) I was interviewed by the fabulous April of aprilmariemay.com and it is here if you want to read it. I = not wonderful interviewee, so keep those expectations low, my friendlings.
2) TODAY, after, uhm, like, eight years of sewing?, discovered that I have NOT BEEN USING THE SEAM RIPPER CORRECTLY. Like, I had no idea, I had been picking stuff out STITCH by STITCH, but it turns out it is SHARP and it SEAM-RIPS! Just like it's name! Yeah. I am awesome.
Picture, by the way, is a view of the thermos collection as seen from the floor under the thermos shelf. Currently, the thermoses (thermosi?) are in a box, but this photo still makes me happy.

Willy Wonka trees??? Did the interviewer stop to splutter helplessly?

And did you have to lie on the floor to take that picture of the thermoses? Does anyone photograph you doing these things?

Holy Cow. I have been using a seam ripper incorrectly as well, picking one stitch at a time. You can just rip the seam? Who knew?

Why were you under the thermos shelf ? But I can quite see that , once there , camera in hand , you'd take that photo .

After reading this, I think I use a seam ripper wrong as well. I pick out seems one by one too. I'm still not even sure what I should be doing differently???

I went to school for 7 years for sewing (well costume design) and I rarely ever use the seam ripper as an actual ripper. Most things are just too precious to risk and you will know what I mean the first time you rip fabric instead of threads:)

Oh. I had NOOOOO idea about the seam ripper till I read this post! I, too, have been ripping things out stitch by stitch! HA! Hilarious! Now I can't wait to mess something up to try it...
